Granite
('gra-nit) - some
granites are the oldest known rocks on earth; others were formed
during younger geologic periods. Since
the ancient times, it has
been quarried & utilized
as a building material, and is still one
of the most durable building
products available - often outlasting the building
in which it is installed. Its enduring beauty has made
granite the
material
of choice for today's luxury homes and offices. No synthetic
material can yet compare to its elegance and performance.
While it is most frequently used for kitchen countertops,
bar tops,
and vanities, it may also be used as a wall, floor, fireplace
surround, windowsill, and even building fascia material.
Its unique variations in color and veining turns make
each specimen
a natural
work of art. It is cool to the touch, and presents an
image of classic grace and beauty that will not depreciate
with
time,
and will continuously add value to any property in which it is
installed.
Granite
is categorized into three levels and types. Levels of granite are high, medium, & low,
and are based on the demand for that particular stone and its current
availability. Types of granite are A, B and
Commercial and refer to the quality of the stone. Art
Stone Design only uses the highest quality
Type A granite from all levels. Type
A indicates that the stone is the highest quality, with the truest
colors and patterns of that particular stone type and free of any
defect. Click on the images below to view more samples :
